In this page, we will discuss the steps you need to take to connect ControlRoom VR to ControlRoom Hub on your DAW computerguide you through connecting the VR app to the Hub.

Tip

These steps are important, please do not skip.

    titleStep One: Launch ControlRoom on your VR Headset

    titleStep Two: Watch the Intro Video and Start the in-app Tutorial

    A. Use the trigger button on your right controller to point and select the Play button to watch the intro video.

    B. After the video has finished, start the tutorial by selecting the button in front of you.

    titleStep Three: Enter DAW Connection Mode

    At the conclusion of the tutorial, you’ll have options to enter Standalone Mode or DAW Control Mode.

    A. Enter DAW Control Mode to be able to control your DAW from VR.

    B. Open the menu, and then the Settings page by selecting the Gear Icon.

    titleStep Four: Prepare the Hub for Connection.

    At this point, the VR application is ready to connect to ControlRoom Hub.

    If you have already installed and launched ControlRoom Hub on your Studio DAW Computer, continue to Step Five below.

    If you have not yet installed and launched ControlRoom Hub on your Studio DAW computer, please do that now. Follow this link for instructions.

    titleStep Five: Auto Connect VR with the Hub

    • Within the Hub, navigate to the Settings Page, and then select the Network tab. Click the Auto Connect button

    • In the list of devices, toggle your VR headset ON.

    • In VR, click the Auto Connect buttonIf all goes well, you should see a message indicating a successful connectionon the Network Settings page, toggle ON the Hub instance that has been detected.

    If you have multiple computers on your local network running ControlRoom Hub, you will see them all in this list. Be sure to choose the correct one for the computer you’d like to connect to.

    Warning

    If you do not see a successful connection message after several attempts, please proceed to Step Six below to manually synchronize your Hub and VR IP addressesthe your devices in the Hub or VR menu, please ensure that your VR headset is connected to the same wifi network as your DAW computer running the Hub. If you need further assistance, please follow the links at the bottom of this page.

    titleStep Six: If auto connect is not working, manually connect the Hub to VR

    If the auto connect in the previous step was successful, you can skip this step.

    The goal is to enter the Hub’s IP address in VR, and then, enter VR’s IP address into the Hub. When finished, Hub IP Address should be the same in both places, and Headset IP Address should be the same in both places.

    A: Within the Hub, navigate to the Settings Page, and then select the Network tab.

    B: Note your Hub IP address:

    C: Enter this Hub IP Address into the corresponding field in the VR application.

    D: In VR, Note the Headset IP Address.

    E: Enter this Headset IP Address into the corresponding field in the Hub.

    If you are using a PC-connected headset like Oculus Rift, and ControlRoom Hub is running on that same PC, your Hub IP and Headset IP will be identical.
